American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) launches two courses in partnership with Katalyst

American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) in partnership with Katalyst and technical assistance from MART  is set to introduce and launch two new academic courses in Marketing discipline, Agro Based Product Marketing and Product Innovation Management. This is the first initiative of it’s kind and AIUB will be offering these courses to students by 2017. The aim is to update and help the students get a good exposure to the market driven Agri-based arena. The inauguration ceremony was held on 13 November 2016, in the business school of AIUB under the supervision of the Pro-VC and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Charles Carillo Villanueva.

Mr. GB Banjara, Head of Capitalisation, Communications and External Relations of Katalyst explained about the possible outcome and importance of  agri-business in the country and how the students of private and public universities can contribute to this sector in the near future. Among the other speakers Md. Anisur Rahman Faroque, Head of the Marketing Department and Dr Nisar Ahmed, Associate Professor and Program Director (Grad) were also present. After the inaugural ceremony, a workshop was held on the course development, embellished by the presence of the foreign consultants from MART. MART is a knowledge based consulting firm in India and their expertise lies on Emerging Markets. They have worked with global businesses, governments and donor agencies all over the world to help them take right directions in these ever-so-growing markets.  Mr. Pankaj Mishra and Mr. Benjamin Mathew from MART, along with contribution of other local consultants and AIUB faculty members.The Department of Marketing AIUB humbly acknowledges the cooperation and kind support from Katalyst, faculty members and consultants at large which made the event successful.
