Capitalisation is the process through which Katalyst promotes the learning from its own and others’ knowledge and experiences of implementing an inclusive business approach (an approach which offers more opportunities and benefits to people living in poverty by ensuring increased growth and access to information, inputs and market linkages). Katalyst’s aim is to use this knowledge and experience to further improve its practice and that of its partners, and to promote and facilitate the adoption of the inclusive business model among its stakeholders.
When stakeholders ‘crowd in’ and first adopt and then promote the approach, there will be increased outreach and impact, resulting in both direct and indirect benefits for the poor. These benefits are expected to extend beyond Katalyst’s lifespan.
Katalyst envisions that the knowledge and experience of private sector-led inclusive development will be promoted and practiced by its stakeholders.
