Career Fair in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) organized by CPL and Katalyst

Katalyst (in association of Consiglieri Private Ltd.) organized a two day long Career Fair in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) to improve linkage between agribusiness industry and agricultural academia. This career fair was open for only students of agricultural universities with the main aim of helping the agricultural university students get a good exposure to the relevant industries as well as helping the agribusiness companies to source the right candidates for their jobs. There are similar initiatives being taken by the private universities all the time but for agriculture universities this career fair is the first one of its kind.

The chief guest of the event was the Vice Chancellor of BSMRAU, Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubar Rahman. Mr. Niaz Rahim, Group Director of Rahimafrooz also attended the event as the special guest. The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Khandokar Saif Uddin, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development.

Mr. Niaz Rahim made a declaration that Rahimafrooz Stores and Rahimafrooz Agro will provide internships and jobs to some of the eligible applicants from this career fair. Private companies like ACI and Ispahani who participated in the fair mentioned that they recruit many agriculture university students every year and this fair was a big recruitment platform for them. On day 1 of the Career Fair, all the companies encouraged students to drop their CVs in the CV booths that were set up in all the stalls. Some of the companies went a step forward and took ‘on the spot’ interviews of the applicants during the fair. On day 2 there were sessions on leadership, CV writing, and selling power excellence for students from various departments of the university.
