Katalyst’s co-facilitator Enroute Int’l Ltd. has signed a contract with National Agricare Ltd. on 27 October 2015. The objective is to disseminate post-harvest knowledge among seed and input retailers of various types of vegetable in Bangladesh. Post-harvest system is the set of operations and functions between production and consumption of agriculture based commodities followed by different actors in order to achieve an effective and efficient food supply. The current post-harvest scenario of vegetable in Bangladesh shows a dismal picture, and is mostly comprised of traditional techniques practiced by producers, traders and the processors resulting in considerable deterioration of physical and nutrition qualities of the harvested produces. National Agricare Ltd. will conduct 15 retailer’s training on post-harvest management to aware a large number of farmers through service providers. Hence, it is expected that with such facilitation National Agricare Ltd. will be able educate its company staff, input retailers, vegetable farmers and agro traders on proper post-harvest technique and reduce significant loss of produce of vegetable at the harvesting period.
