A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 26 January 2014 between Katalyst and the Bangladesh Fisheries Research forum (BFRF). Katalyst and BFRF will collaborate in introducing and implementing commercial training model for high-value fish species such as tilapia, pangas and koi.
Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Wahab, BFRF President, and Mr. Markus Ehmann, Katalyst General Manager, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. The collaboration with Katalyst will also help BFRF to support private sector players to initiate research and to develop fishery related academic curriculum for educational institutions. Dr. Benoy Kumar Barman, BFRF General Secretary and Mr. S. K. Abid, BFRF Accountant, Mr. Martin Stottele, Katalyst former General Manager, and Katalyst farmed fish sector staff members were present at the ceremony.
