Updating the Curriculum of Government Training Institutes

Sharing knowledge on inclusive marked development among well-positioned stakeholders is an essential part of promoting and harnessing this innovative approach for the future development of Bangladesh. Since its inception in 1980, The National Academy for Planning and Development (NAPD) has played a pivotal role in enhancing development planning and project management capabilities of Government officials.  That is why Katalyst and NAPD have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to incorporate the knowledge and experiences of Katalyst into the academy’s curriculum.

As the first activity under the MoU, Katalyst along with its Co-facilitator, Consiglieri Private Limited, arranged a workshop with staff and teachers of NAPD on 17th November 2015. The objectives of the workshop were:

  • To map the various perspectives, issues and approaches related to inclusive market development and sustainable development
  • To discuss the role of the public sector’s planning and development functions with respect to inclusive market development
  • To find ways of incorporating the present emphasis of private sector development into the academy’s curriculum

The workshop was attended by K M Mozammel Hoq, Director General, NAPD, as the chief guest of the event. This initiative is part of Katalyst’s capitalisation strategy, which supports key institutions from academia and government training institutes in promoting inclusive market development.
