The Local Agri-business Network (LAN) sector of Agri-business for Trade Competitiveness Project (ATC-P), branded as Katalyst, organised a training on Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation and Reporting for the three extension agencies. A total of 30 senior officials representing the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Department of Livestock Services (DLS) and Department of Fisheries (DoF) participated in the training in two batches during 7- 12 May 2016 at Asia Pacific Hotel. The training was conducted by Ashwini Chandak, an international consultant specialising on Public Private Partnership (PPP) and project management.
The purpose of the training was to integrate the application of PPP in the future projects coming out of these three extension departments. The training highlighted the key elements of project management emphasizing on public-private collaboration and how this leads to better resource management to deliver improved agricultural services to farmers. The understanding of PPP was further reinforced with numerous success stories of public-private collaboration from LAN.
The participants highly appreciated the training as they achieved good insight on both project management and PPP. The participants expressed that learning from the training will help them to integrate PPP models while designing resource efficient projects in the future.
