Katalyst was invited by UNCTAD to share its experience in ICT and its link to poverty alleviation in a closed door ad-hoc expert meeting. The meeting, attended by practitioners, academics, bilateral agencies, NGOs and others, was organized as a preparatory event for the Information Economy report for 2010.
Each year, UNCTAD publishes the IER aimed at different governments and related agencies across the world covering various areas of work of ICT and its impact/contribution to development. For 2010, the focus is on ICT, enterprise and poverty alleviation.
Katalyst experience with sustainable model of Tele-center and Call-center and its work with the Government were well received and complemented by the participants in the meeting. Next steps are being drawn up whereby Katalyst will share its learning to be published in the IER 2010 report.
