With an objective to Strengthening the public and private partnership the “5th International Agro-Tech Fair Bangladesh-2015” took place during 28-30 May 2015, at the International Convention City Bashundhara. Katalyst as being the largest market development project in Bangladesh participated in the fair. The Rural Development Academy, Bogra (RDA) which is an autonomous body under the umbrella of the Rural Development and Co-operatives Division of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (LGRDC) and Limra Trade Fairs and Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. jointly organized this agriculture fair.
Honorable Minister Mr. Syed Ashraful Islam, MP, and Mr. Md. Mashiur Rahman Ranga, MP from the Ministry of Local Govt., Rural Development and Cooperatives were present at the inauguration ceremony of the fair. This year, around fourteen local and international companies participated including grain tech, diary and poultry, agro machinery and seed, agro renewable energy and light engineering, beverage foods and technology and PVC and packaging expo participated in the fair. Katalyst highlighted its Innovation Fund initiative, a grant delivery mechanism to spur and encourage innovations in Bangladesh’s agri-business sector. Targeted at a broad range of actors such as private sector companies, NGOs, associations, think-tanks and consultancy firms, the Katalyst’s Innovation Fund is supporting new initiatives that have the potential to act as a facilitator for change and bring about enduring changes in the lives of rural farmers across Bangladesh.
