Katalyst partners with Nielsen to unveil research findings on media habit of rural people

Katalyst and Nielsen presented the findings of a comprehensive research study on the consumption patterns and media habit of rural population. The Nielsen Media and Demographic Survey is a yearly survey conducted by Nielsen to capture the nationwide changing trend in media habit and consumption pattern.

The event was held on 24 January 2012 at a seminar titled ‘Consumption and media habit of rural Bangladesh: A new paradigm’ at The Westin Dhaka.

Dr. Khalid Hasan, Managing Director, Nielsen Bangladesh presented the main paper which emphasized on the immense and untapped opportunity that lies in the rural population. The paper highlighted the rising trend in rural media habit as well as the consumption pattern of the rural market.

Deputy Director, Marketing of Grameenphone Mr. Aman Ashraf Faiz, Vice President, Market Operations of Robi Axiata Limited, Mr. Monjur-E-Elahi, Managing Director & CEO of Asiatic Marketing & Communications Ltd. Mr. Aly Zaker and Business Director of ACI Limited Consumer Goods, Mr. Ashraf-Bin-Taj spoke at the Seminar. General Manager of Katalyst Mr. Goetz Ebbecke concluded the event with a vote of thanks. High officials and dignitaries of different corporate houses and media attended and participated in the open discussion session moderated by Dr. Abdun Noor Tushar.
