Katalyst signed two partnership grants contracts on 30 October 2014. The companies who were awarded the grants are Xplore Business Ltd. and Annapurna Agro Services. The main objective of this intervention is to bring improvements in distribution and sourcing of compost companies.
Xplore business limited proposed a model to ensure easy access to quality compost fertiliser to the farmers. This model can create opportunities for Small Compost Producers to expand their businesses throughout the country and will also help them to increase their capability of producing and marketing their product.
It is expected that Xplore through this partnership grant will ensure an effective and sustainable channel for quality compost production and distribution such that farmers can be benefitted.
Annapurna Agro Service is a private compost producing company located in the Nilphamari district. Their main objective through this partnership grant is to establish a production and distribution network for compost fertilizer in the northern parts of the country. Their model proposes to ensure smooth transfer of vermi composting technology to the farmers.
Katalyst will advise on overall execution of all activities. Katalyst will also monitor every activity under the program and will assess their impacts and will give required feedback to both the companies.
