Agri-business for Trade Competitiveness Project (ATC-P), Business Promotion Council (BPC) and Bangladesh Fruits, Vegetables and Allied Products Exporters Association (BFVAPEA) jointly organized a workshop on Diversification of Vegetables Export and Reduction of Noncompliance through Contract Farming Model Setup.
The workshop was held on 5 August, 2015 in Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB), Khamar Sarak, Farmgate, Dhaka. Mr. Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce was present as the Chief Guest, at the workshop. The workshop was also hosted Mr. Anwar Faruque, Additional Secretary and Director General (Seed Wing) Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Subhashish Bose, Vice Chairman, Export Promotion Bureau and Mr. Md. Hamidur Rahman, Director General (In Charge), Department of Agricultural Extension, Khamarbari, Dhaka as Special Guests. Mr. S.M. Jahangir Hossain, Director, FBCCI and President BFVAPEA chaired the inaugural session. Mr. Markus Ehmann, General Manager of Agri-business for Trade Competitiveness Project (ATC-P) and members from the Department of Agricultural Extension were also present in the workshop.
The main objective of the workshop was to share knowledge on increasing export diversification, growth and upgrading of vegetables export by reducing noncompliance through improving the production quality, pre and post-harvest management and global packaging technology by establishing contract farming model.
