Ms. Shahlo Sasha Rahimova, Programme Manager, from the UK Government (DFID) Central Asia and Mr. Maheswar Mishra Private Sector Development Adviser, from the UK Government (DFID) visited Katalyst’s activities in Jessore on 8 November 2014. They were accompanied by Katalyst staff working in Vegetable sector and Capitalisation, Communications and External Relations.
The visit started with a briefing on M4P (making market work for the poor) approach and its application in field by Katalyst. Afterwards, the delegation visited a retail shop of IPM vendor to understand the IPM intervention in Jibonnagar, Chuadanga .
The visitor learned about the demand for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) products. The delegation also visited a demo plot of vegetable, where farmers are using pheromone trap instead of chemical pesticides for their vegetables.
Ms. Sasha and Mr. Maheswar, expressed their appreciation to the farmers and Katalyst’s vegetable interventions.
