Katalyst with the World Vegetable Center has organised a 3-day long workshop on “Parthenocarpic and Genoecious breeding in cucumber” to disseminate knowledge and create dialogue among private input companies in partnership with the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI). The workshop was held during 3-5 October 2017. This workshop’s primary focus was to provide technical information regarding cucumber-cropping methodologies. A practical field demonstration of cropping method was also shown to the participants during the training session. Dr. Mahesha DK, renowned for his work on Cucurbits in the Indian seed industry has conducted the training. In its inaugural ceremony, the workshop was graced with presence Dr. Tawhidur Rahman, CSO, Vegetable Division, HRC and Dr. Paritosh Kumar Malakar, Director Training and Communication as Special Guests, Dr. M. Lutfur Rahman, Director Research as Chief Guest, and Dr. Golam Morshed Adbul Halim, Director Horticulture Research Center as the Chairman. Katalyst looks forward to organise two more workshops in partnership with BARI and World Vegetable Center to train input companies on vegetable cropping patterns.
